Technology Vision
Faith Academy envisions one computing device to one student and is steadily working towards this goal. Over the last four years, the school has increased the numbers of Chromebooks sets available in each division for class teachers to check out for the period. We have been intentional to ensure that the use of technology is to improve students learning. The school supplied Chromebooks have been allowed to grow to meet this goal. Moving forward the plan is to move to one-to-one first in the HSD. While we are close to making this a reality, the Leadership Team reviews this each year in order to determine if the time is right, taking into account sufficient infrastructure support, benefits to student learning, parent support, and teacher preparedness.
Acceptable Use Policy
Galatians 5:22-23 “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things, there is no law.”
Philippians 4:8 “Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things.”
God has blessed Faith Academy (FA) with excellent technology resources. As we seek to serve Him with all of our heart, soul, and mind we want to use these resources as tools pleasing to Him to bring Him glory. The FA network, including Internet access, and these policies have been designed with the Christ-centered values of the founders and the education and security of the children as priorities. FA strives to offer sufficient access to all who need it without significantly increasing costs for students to attend.
The following guidelines and security policies are created toward that end, helping all of us be good stewards and glorify God in our use of these resources, thus protecting our investment. This policy applies to everyone using FA technology including but not limited to staff, faculty, missionaries, students, parents, visitors, and guests and apply not only to devices owned by FA, but also any personal computer, laptop, tablet, iPad, iPod, Smartphone, and any other network-connected device being used on campus to connect to the school network or use the school’s Internet connection.
We respect the privacy of each user’s devices, data, documents, and email. However, in order to provide accountability, integrity, responsibility, and safety regarding the use of FA technology on campus, Faith Academy’s IT Department and the Faith Academy Administration (FAA) reserve the right to monitor all use of FA technology and our Google Apps Domain. IT Department and FAA reserve the right to access all personal devices connected to FA technology systems as a measure of accountability.
It may be necessary for the IT Department or the FAA to institute additional verbal and written guidelines to specific persons or groups. These additional guidelines become amendments to this policy. All stipulations in this document regarding consequences also apply to any additional amendments.
