After visiting these specialized dashboards, you may or may not like them. However, I found a very good and helpful PDF online that helps explain the Docs Dashboard. The "cheats" on this sheet are also applicable to the Sheets and Slides dashboards as well. |

Document Editing
- CMD+X -- cut
- CMD+C -- copy
- CMD+V -- paste
- CMD+B -- bold
- CMD+U -- underline
- CMD+I -- italicize
- CMD+Z -- undo
- CMD+S -- save
- CMD+A -- select All
- DELETE -- backspace: remove characters to the left of cursor
- FN+DELETE -- forward delete: remove characters to the right of the cursor
- CMD+RIGHT ARROW -- move to the end of the line
- CMD+LEFT ARROW -- move to the beginning of the line
Basic Functions
- CMD+DELETE -- sends the selected object to the trash
- CMD+E -- ejects the selected drive/cd/mounted disk image
- CMD+O -- opens the selected file/folder
- CMD+Q -- quits the running application
- CMD+W -- closes the current window (or tab if in a browser)
- CMD+, -- in most apps, will bring up the application's preferences
| General
- CMD+SHIFT+3 -- saves an image of your full screen onto your Desktop
- CMD+SHIFT+4 -- saves an image of a selected region onto your Desktop
- CMD+CTRL+SHIFT+4 -- places a copy of a selected region as an image into your clipboard for pasting somewhere (like in Word)
- CMD+TAB -- switch between running applications
- CMD+SPACE -- brings up Spotlight to allow you to search your Mac
- SPACE -- pulls up a "quick look" window of the selected file
When in Finder...
- CMD+1 -- switch finder view to icon view
- CMD+2 -- switch finder view to detail view
- CMD+3 -- switch finder view to column view
- CMD+4 -- switch finder view to cover flow view (OS 10.5 and higher)
- CMD+I -- shows information about the selected file/folder/drive
- ENTER/RETURN -- allows you to rename the selected file/folder
